Major Differences between Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel

The major differences between carbon steel tanks and custom stainless steel tanks are the content of chromium in the composition. If there is a presence of chromium in steel, it leads to the formation of an inert layer of chromium oxide on the surface of steel. This layer gives rise to the property named resistance to corrosion.

If we talk about carbon steel tanks, they do not have the ability to withstand extreme weather and climatic conditions. As stainless steel tanks are more resistant to corrosion, it makes stainless steel tanks more durable as compared to carbon steel tanks.
